Country Club Shores

Country Club Shores is a residential community mostly on deep water canals located on the southern end of Longboat Key. Its conception began in 1962 and was built in five phases. The first phase is distinguished by streets with nautical names such as Sloop, Ketch, Schooner  and Yawl Lane. The neighborhood continued to grow northward for more than a mile and the nautical names became golfing terms such as Putting Green, Birdie, Wedge and Chipping Lane.

There are 420 parcels of land and the average lot size is 125 feet by 100 feet. There is a voluntary Home Owners Association with an annual fee of $125,000. Country Club Shores is a deed restricted community. Most of the homes in Country Club Shores are on deep water canals and open bay front property. The majority of them include docks.

There are approximately 25 residences along Bogey Lane which back up to Gulf of Mexico Drive. Gulf of Mexico Drive, also known as State Road 789, is the only main road running North and South through the island (approximately 11 miles in length).  Longboat Key is connected by draw bridges from the South (New Pass) and the Longboat Pass Bridge on the north connecting Bradenton Beach and Anna Maria Island.
